The Environmental Impact Assessment Committee focuses on the law of environmental review in New York including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and the New York City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR) and the application of these laws by government agencies and the courts. The Committee seeks to connect lawyers who focus their practice in this area of the law, to serve as a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas among practitioners, to educate lawyers and members of the public who do not focus on this area of the law, and to provide advice and comment to policymakers about the further refinement and development of laws and regulations.

Committee membership is open to members of the Environmental & Energy Law Section.
