ImmunitiesintheFaceoftheCOVID-19_675

Earlier this year, the NYSBA Health Law Section convened a Task Force to develop a report to highlight and discuss the unique legal and ethical issues confronted by the health care system in the State of New York presented by the COVID-19 crisis.  Issues pertaining to patient care, the business of health care, and regulatory mandates imposed upon providers and health care facilities presented unprecedented challenges during this public health emergency. As a result certain qualified immunities became necessary, not as a means of curtailing investigations and lawsuits, but as a means to balance the unique demands placed upon providers and health care facilities during this human rights and public health crisis. Join us to learn more about these immunities and their implications.
