College Disciplinary Proceedings And Litigation 2018
Total Credits: 1.5 Skills
Colleges around the country are aggressively investigating and sanctioning student
misconduct, and New York is no exception. This CLE reviews the general process colleges follow from investigating allegations of misconduct, adjudicating those allegations at an internal disciplinary proceeding, appealing an unfavorable outcome within the college’s system and challenging an unfavorable determination in either New York State or Federal District Court. The CLE will also provide an appellate update on recent New York State decisions involving student misconduct cases and strategies for handling these matters at each stage.
