Representing Entrepreneurial Businesses (2013)

4.0 MCLE Credits

Entrepreneurs are not normal businesspeople. Lawyers who represent them cannot serve them the way those lawyers do their "normal" business clients. Indeed, in the entrepreneurial, more risk-taking context, the relationship of the lawyer and the businessperson is often so intertwined that a competent lawyer must have a different approach to that business. This course highlights how to serve entrepreneurs well, and the risks, professional and otherwise, that the entrepreneurs and their lawyers face working with each other.

The experienced and diverse faculty will address issues including basic business organization, litigation, compliance, and ethical concerns. Ample time has been reserved in the program for panel discussion and audience questions. This course is a primer for any lawyer working in any field who wants to represent entrepreneurs in particular and flexible, demanding businesses in general.
