For more than 140 years, the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) has been the voice of the legal profession in New York State. Our mission is to shape the development of law, educate and inform the public, and respond to the demands of our diverse and ever-changing legal profession. With so many changes taking place this past year, and as we head into 2021, it was important for us to continue to recognize how integral our members are. As you will see when reviewing the dues packages, we have made an effort to hold on our annual rates, while providing greater value in the form of CLEs. We have streamlined the number of packages overall, keeping in-state and out-of-state options identical, while managing to expand our law student offerings and new admitted attorney options.

Annual Rate: $150.00 (added to your member rate)

Through your partnership, leadership, stewardship and legal expertise your Sustaining Membership shows you are committed to legal industry growth and excellence. Your intellectual and financial support drives the mission of the New York State Bar Association and the Rule of Law. The contributions made by this valued group of distinguished attorneys help support initiatives that allow NYSBA to maintain its leadership position as the voice of New York attorneys. DUES WAIVER PROGRAM

 

The Dues Waiver Program is intended to help members by providing assistance to attorneys whose financial circumstances are such that full payment of membership dues would pose a financial hardship. Situations which would merit a dues waiver include:

  • Unemployment or income constraints
  • Time out from practice for family or health reasons
  • Reduced income based upon extraordinary practice or business losses

Dues Waiver criteria:

  • Applicants must have been a member of NYSBA for 3 consecutive years prior to requesting a dues waiver
  • Applicants whose adjusted gross annual income exceeds $75,000 USD will be considered ineligible for the dues waiver program
  • If the applicant is unemployed or underemployed, and their adjusted gross annual income is less than $75,000 USD, they may receive a reduction in annual dues
  • Applicants may receive dues waivers/reductions for no more than five total years over the course of their NYSBA membership.

AUTO RENEW OPTION

 

A new, simpler way to pay your dues

 

Enrolling in this option means your credit card will be charged automatically on a monthly (or yearly) basis based on the billing preference you select.  It will allow for you to seamlessly keep your membership current while continuously providing you with your benefits without any interruption.

Two payment options are available:

Monthly Plan – First payment is due upon renewing and then subsequent payments spread out equally over the remaining months in the year of your membership.

Annual Plan – Pay full dues now and it will automatically renew on an annual basis.

 

You can follow the instructions during the online join/renewal process and select the option at that time or request the auto renew option with one of our Member Resource Center representatives if joining/renewing by phone.
