Justin L. Vigdor of Rochester has been honored with the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award, given by The New York Bar Foundation.

Vigdor received the award during the Fellows Annual Dinner Meeting on January 31 in New York City. The award honors former officers or directors of the Foundation who served a minimum of 10 years and significantly advanced the purposes of the Foundation.

“Justin Vigdor has been an extraordinary bar leader for more than three decades. His generosity and service to The Foundation are invaluable,” said Bar Foundation President Cristine Cioffi of Niskayuna (Cioffi•Slezak•Wildgrube). “We are pleased to recognize an outstanding leader and friend of the legal profession.”

Vigdor was president of the New York State Bar Association from 1985 to 1986 and president of The New York Bar Foundation from 1992 to 1996. He has been a member of the State Bar Association’s House of Delegates since 1977 and was the inaugural chair of the Senior Lawyers Section. He also is a past president of the Monroe County Bar Association and The Foundation for the Monroe County Bar. He was chair of the Interest on Lawyer Account Fund (IOLA) for five years.

He is a senior counsel to Boylan Code, concentrating his practice in business law and transactions, financial services and alternative dispute resolution. He graduated from the University of Maryland and earned his law degree magna cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law. He also has a master’s of law degree from New York University School of Law.

“The New York Bar Foundation has always been close to my heart. Its mission epitomizes the noblest aspirations of our profession. I’m profoundly touched by this most prestigious award,” said Vigdor.
