Intermission is Over: How Broadway and the West End Fared COVID-19
This program will feature West End theatre attorney Neil Adleman from Harbottle & Lewis LLP and Broadway theater attorney Jason Baruch from Sendroff & Baruch LLP about the industry’s resurrection on both sides of the Atlantic.
Neil and Jason will compare and contrast the relaunch of live stage productions in both markets, including vaccine mandates and other Covid-19 protocols, government relief programs and tax incentives, insurance coverage experiences, adjustments in contractual provisions such as force majeure and indemnification clauses, the impact of the Black Lives Matter and EDI movements on Broadway and the West End, the state of the (collective bargaining) unions here and there, a comparison of the current touring market in the U.S. and U.K., and the general costs and risks of producing theater in a post-Covid world.
