Nixon Peabody’s Government Investigations and White Collar Team will present the role of special counsel in Martin Act and Executive Law investigations involving real estate, with a special emphasis on real estate securities in New York. This program will provide an overview of both laws, governing regulations of cooperative interests in realty and syndications, key case law, as well as criminal laws related to tenant harassment and other real estate activities. Attorneys will receive an overview of this area of law, as well as understand the role of outside counsel on real estate matters that end up the subject of government investigations, public investigations, or litigation. This CLE will be geared towards enforcement matters and other legal proceeding commenced by the New York Attorney General.
