Building a Better Future
The NYSBA Annual Dinner was the flagship event for the association from 1878 to 1995. In 2020, NYSBA honored its rich history by going back to the future and restoring the proud tradition of a dinner as the featured event of Annual Meeting. As we return to our in-person Annual Meeting format, we will once again be hosting a Presidential Gala on Friday January 20, 2023 at the Rainbow Room in NYC with live entertainment and an auction facilitated by the New York Bar Foundation. The spotlight of this black-tie event will be the presentation of the Gold Medal Award, the highest honor bestowed by the association, to Sherrilyn Ifill, Senior Fellow at the Ford Foundation.
Gold Medal Award Recipient
Sherrilyn Ifill is a civil rights lawyer and scholar. She most recently stepped down after 10 years in leadership as the President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), the nation’s premier civil rights law organization fighting for racial justice and equality. She currently serves as a Senior Fellow at the Ford Foundation.
Silent and Live Auction hosted by The New York Bar Foundation
Join us for a silent and live auction hosted by the New York Bar Foundation. The silent auction is now open, and the live auction will take place during the Presidential Gala. Both auctions will feature amazing auction items and priceless experiences. Everyone will have the opportunity to participate through our online catalogue or in-person at the Presidential Gala.
The Foundation auction is now open at https://us.givergy.com/FoundationAuction
Your contributions will help us raise life- changing funds for the benefit of the New York Bar Foundation grant program, which is committed to Building a Better Future, by funding access to legal services programs and other initiatives throughout New York State.
Check the auction site often as items are being added daily. Follow us on social media for updates and featured items.
Anyone who would like to contribute an auction item should contact Deborah Auspelmyer, Foundation Executive, at [email protected]. We appreciate your support and assistance.
