NYSBA Leadership Goes to Washington
4.21.2025

New York State Bar Association leaders went to Washington, D.C., to advocate for the association’s federal legislative priorities earlier this month, holding over a dozen meetings to discuss critical issues including funding for the Legal Services Corporation, access to justice and preservation of the Rule of Law.
The association shared recent association reports and statements from President Domenick Napoletano with legislators and staff from the New York Congressional delegation. In addition to the two days of meetings, the association held a reception for NYSBA members in the area.
The lobbying effort coincided with the American Bar Association’s Lobby Day on the Hill. NYSBA utilizes the annual ABA lobby day to call attention to issues important to New York attorneys. The two-day advocacy event brings hundreds of national, state and local bar leaders to Washington, D.C., to advocate on issues important to the legal profession. The size and strength of the New York State Bar Association brings attention and results on issues important to lawyers.
The association continues to advance its priorities throughout the year with meetings, events and the sharing of relevant association reports and statements with key Congressional offices.
