NYSBA To Host Seminar on Using AI for Attorney-Client Conversations

7.10.2025

The New York State Bar Association is hosting a program on the ethical use of artificial intelligence for high-stakes client conversations.

AI can be used to streamline and enhance client services without compromising confidentiality, attorney-client privilege, or professionalism. It can flag potential legal issues, list questions, and summarize conversations in real time.

The webinar, “AI Is in the Room: Responsible Adoption of AI in Virtual Attorney-Client Conversations,” will take place on Tuesday, July 29, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Topics covered will include the benefits and risks of AI tools – including those built for legal use – as well as ethical issues and guidelines. This program is intended to help attorneys at all levels of experience with AI.

The speakers will be:

  • Alexander Paykin, principal of the Law Office Of Alexander Paykin and chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Technology and the Legal Profession.
  • Hilary Bowman, founder and CEO of Querious.

The course is free for New York State Bar Association members, as one of the many benefits of the association’s new, all-inclusive membership package. Attendees will receive one Continuing Legal Education credit in Ethics and Professionalism. The program is sponsored by the association’s Committee on Technology and the Legal Profession and Committee on Law Practice Management.
