The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) celebrated its landmark 150th anniversary at the 2026 Presidential Gala, held on January 15, 2026, at the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City. The black-tie event served as the social highlight of the association’s Annual Meeting, where President Kathleen Sweet presented Governor Kathy Hochul with the Gold Medal Award, the association’s highest honor, in recognition of her service to the public and the legal profession. In addition to honoring all past presidents for their leadership, the evening featured a cocktail reception and a formal dinner, providing members with a prestigious forum to reflect on the association’s century-and-a-half legacy and its ongoing commitment to the rule of law.
