NYSBA To Host Free Seminar on Balancing Caregiving and Career
1.29.2026

Many professionals face the pressure of taking care of young children and elderly parents in addition to their demanding workloads. The New York State Bar Association is hosting a free seminar on the challenges of caring for loved ones while navigating high-pressure careers.
“Thriving in the Chaos: Mastering the Professional-Caregiver Balance” will take place on Feb. 5 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The program will discuss strategies to manage competing priorities, set healthy boundaries, sustain career momentum, and cultivate balance.
According to Pew Research Center, more than half of Americans in their 40s have a living parent age 65 or older and are either raising a child under 18 or helping an adult child financially. These adults are called the “sandwich generation” because they are sandwiched between taking care of their children and aging parents.
The main speaker will be Kimberly Bonds Grocher, a licensed mental health professional and executive coach. She has a doctorate in social work from Fordham University.
Melissa G. Andrieux, partner and chief impact officer at Dorf Nelson & Zauderer, will moderate.
The program is sponsored by the New York State Bar Association’s Women in Law Section.
