8:30 AM – 1:00 PM— General Practice Section & 50+ Section MCLE Program (Sutton South, 2nd Floor)
Planning for Law Practice Transitions
As Heraclitus reportedly said, “the only constant in life is change.” The practice of law is no exception. Practitioners should be prepared for both planned and unplanned changes in their practice, including expansions, lateral moves, law practice sales, retirement, death, and disability. This panel will discuss the practical and ethical considerations of planning for an uncertain future.
Evaluate readiness and learn how to plan for expected or unexpected changes.
Old Rules, New Technologies
Often, technology advances quicker than regulation can react. Artificial Intelligence is now commonplace in the legal profession, but there have been few changes to statutes and rules, and individual judge’s rules that address AI can vary. This panel examines the ethical and regulatory framework of AI in the legal profession and provides guidance on how to navigate it.
Learn the state of AI regulation and best practices for AI use.
