The goal of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Business Law Section (BLS) Fellowship Program (“the Program”) is to create a network and forge relationships which will foster greater diversity in law firms throughout New York State. Through the Program, Fellows will be provided a meaningful and appropriately supervised work experience by host law firms working in partnership with the NYSBA Business Law Section’s Diversity Committee.
Fellows will be placed at a law firm based in New York State for a ten-week Fellowship (maximum 40 hours per week).
The Diversity Committee will have an orientation meeting for the Fellows prior to the start of the Fellowship, periodic check-ins during the summer, and a wrap-up meeting at the conclusion of the Fellowship.
Eligible Students
Students must be class of 2026 or 2027 from diverse backgrounds attending a New York State law school, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and capable of fulfilling the requested work hours and responsibilities during the summer of 2025 either virtually, hybrid or in person (to be discussed with firm).
Stipend Amount
The stipend amount will be $12,000.
