The mission of the Securities Arbitration Committee is to promote the effective and fair use of arbitration in investor and securities cases and to support practitioners engaged in the field.
Committee work promotes this mission by: identifying Best Practices, from the perspectives of litigators and arbitrators, for the conducting of expeditious, economical and fair arbitrations; keeping abreast of legal developments in securities and arbitration law; working with other bar committees within NYSBA and professional entities on matters having to do with securities arbitration; and sponsoring CLE programs having to do with securities arbitration and arbitrators.
The Committee will establish a schedule of meetings every two months with an agenda based on priorities established by committee members.
We welcome the participation by our members. You are encouraged to join our meetings, whether in person, by zoom or phone, and to suggest, work on, and hopefully take a leadership role in projects you think we should be undertaking. We would like to have as broad participation as possible from lawyers across the state and are committed to ComFed’s diversity objectives as to inclusiveness.
