NYSBA welcomes participation by individuals with disabilities. NYSBA is committed to complying with all applicable laws that prohibit discrimination against individuals on the basis of disability in the full and equal enjoyment of its goods, services, programs, activities, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodations. To request auxiliary aids or services or if you have any questions regarding accessibility, please contact Cindy O’Brien at (518) 487-5585 or [email protected].
Most MCLE states will accept NYSBA programs toward fulfillment of their MCLE requirements on a pre-approved or retroactive basis. In all cases, the individual MCLE state determines the total number of accredited CLE hours and how they are applied. Attorneys admitted in mandatory CLE states who wish to use this course toward fulfilling the state’s mandatory CLE requirement should complete a Uniform Certificate of Attendance available at the registration table on the day of the seminar. This certificate may be left with the registration personnel at the close of the program, or may be mailed to the NYSBA after the program. The NYSBA will verify your attendance and return the form to you. All inquiries regarding mandatory continuing legal education credits may be directed to Carolyn Bell at (518) 487-5606 or [email protected].
STANDALONE CLE PROGRAMMING
Any New York attorney who has a genuine financial hardship may apply for tuition assistance for a CLE program by completing a Tuition Assistance Request Form and returning it to the CLE Department no later than five working days prior to the program date, explaining the basis of his/her hardship. If granted, the attorney will receive tuition assistance, depending on the individual’s circumstances.
SECTION DESTINATION EVENTS
For a destination event hosted by a NYSBA Section, that requires additional planning, please return your form no later than 10 business days prior to the start date of the event.
If you need further assistance, please contact Holly Hirsch at (518) 487-5586.
Partial Credit for Program Segments Not Allowed: Under the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board Regulations and Guidelines, attendees at CLE programs cannot get MCLE credit for a program segment (typically, a lecture or panel, of which there are usually several in a program) unless they are present for the entire segment. Those who arrive late, depart early or are absent for any portion of the segment WILL NOT receive credit for that program segment.
Registrations cancelled less than three days from the program date will be assessed a minimum cancellation fee of $25.00, or you can transfer your registration to another colleague or to another program. Please see event registration pages for additional cancellation fees and/or times frames for refund processing for select destination meetings. To cancel, please call or email the Member Resource Center at (800) 582-2452 or [email protected]. If you do not cancel and do not attend the program, you will be given access to the course materials in consideration of the registration fee.
Subject to availability and exclusions, group discounts are available to law firms and organizations sending 3 or more employees to any one NYSBA CLE program. Please contact Holly Hirsch at (518) 487-5586 for more information.
Elder Law and Special Needs Section
The Elder Law and Special Needs Section has approved a policy that allows for a 50% discount on the registration fees for any member of the Section who practices in the public sector or as Court personnel. This discount is not applied automatically.
Under this policy, anyone who required financial aid may apply in writing, no later than ten working days prior to the start of the program, explaining the basis of the hardship, and if approved, can receive a discount of scholarship, depending on the circumstance.
Please note: Where applicable, members of the Judiciary may also register as a guest and pay the reduced guest registration fee.
