2023 Haywood Burns Award Ceremony
Join the Committee on Civil Rights for the 2023 Haywood Burns Award Ceremony on Tuesday, April 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at CUNY School of Law in Queens as we celebrate the Hon. Betty E. Staton, Former Judge, New York State Family Court, Kings County; and President, Brooklyn Legal Services Legal Services NYC.
The Haywood Burns Award is presented to honor an individual, not necessarily a lawyer, who has contributed to New York State in a manner that reflects Dean Burns’ commitment to the struggle for justice and the qualities that made him an outstanding advocate for civil rights and the empowerment of the powerless.
