JANUARY 22, 2020: NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT HENRY M. GREENBERG SUPPORTS GOVERNOR ON COURT MODERNIZATION

New York State Bar Association President Henry M. Greenberg issued the following statement today in response to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal, included in the Executive budget, to restructure the state’s court system.

“The New York State Bar Association applauds Gov. Andrew Cuomo for his support of court modernization. The present system, with its 11 trial courts, is confusing for litigants, costly for taxpayers and makes case management difficult. We are grateful to the governor and Chief Judge Janet DiFiore for their support, and our association stands ready to help in any way we can to make this proposal a reality.”
