Domenick Napoletano, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the following statement today about the bar association’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion:

“The New York State Bar Association will continue to advocate for ensuring equal access to justice for all persons, especially those in need. Those that call for our laws and our system of justice to be applied fairly to all are doing so because all people deserve the benefits and blessings that our nation has to offer, not just the rich and well connected.”

The New York State Bar Association has issued two recent reports on diversity: a January 2023 report from the Task Force on Racism, Social Equity and the Law and a September 2023 report from the Task Force on Advancing Diversity that addresses the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University of North Carolina.
