Domenick Napoletano, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the following statement about the death of the association’s former president Justin Vigdor:

“Justin Vigdor’s contributions to the city of Rochester and the state of New York are immeasurable. He served on countless non-profit boards, demonstrating through his good deeds how much difference younger attorneys can make in people’s lives. He won a lifetime achievement award from the New York Bar Foundation and the Rochester Rotary Award, two prestigious awards that marked more than a half century of accomplishments. And this year marked his 70th year as a lawyer, which is truly remarkable. He served as the New York State Bar Association’s president from 1985 to 1986 and as president of the New York Bar Foundation from 1991 to 1994. My condolences go out to his family and friends and the countless people whose lives were a little better because of Justin.”

Justice Cheryl Chambers, president of the New York Bar Foundation, issued the following statement:

“Justin was dedicated to the New York Bar Foundation for many years. He loved being a lawyer but the best part for him was finding ways to improve people’s lives. He thrived as the foundation’s president and on its board, enjoying every minute of it. He remained active for many years, celebrating his 70th year as a lawyer in 2024. My condolences go out to his family and friends and all those whose lives he touched. He will be sorely missed.”
