New York State Bar Association Mourns the Death of Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jiménez-Salta

Domenick Napoletano, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the following statement about the death of New York State Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jiménez-Salta:
“I am deeply hurt by the tragic passing of Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jiménez-Salta, whom I’ve known, and I worked with, for some thirty years. As an adversary, she was the consummate professional. As a judge — whom I had the privilege of appearing before in both the Housing and Supreme Court — she exemplified everything the people of New York could want in a judge. She was smart and decisive, fair and compassionate, humble and respectful. Her tragic death in a motorcycle crash on Long Island has shocked the entire New York legal community. We extend our deepest condolences to her daughter, Olivia, to her father, Max Jiménez, and mother, Elena Iaconis, and the rest of her family, friends and colleagues whom she touched with her grace. I, along with everyone who knew her, will sorely miss her. Rest in eternal peace my friend.”
