Scott M. Karson, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the following statement on the death of Judge Paul G. Feinman, associate judge of the state Court of Appeals:

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the untimely death of Judge Paul G. Feinman, who left the Court just last week after less than four years of service due to illness. With his passing, we have lost his wisdom and keen sense of justice. We have also lost a champion of the rights of our LGBTQ citizens.

On a personal note, I am grateful to have had the privilege of getting to know Judge Feinman, when he appeared before NYSBA’s Committee to Review Judicial Nominations, through his service as chair of the New York State Justice Task Force and at many law-related functions.

I would like to express my sincere condolences, and those of the entire bar association, to his husband, family, friends and colleagues.
