New York State Bar Association Welcomes Supreme Court Ruling Allowing Restrictions on Ghost Guns
3.26.2025
Domenick Napoletano, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the following statement today about the U.S. Supreme Court upholding restrictions on ghost guns:
“The Supreme Court today upheld common sense restrictions on difficult-to-trace guns known as ghost guns. These restrictions require accountability from gun manufacturers such as serial numbers on the parts and background checks for would-be buyers. We believe this law will save countless American lives and welcome the Supreme Court ruling in favor of it.”
The New York State Bar Association Task Force on Mass Shootings and Assault Weapons recommended the regulation of ghost guns in November of 2020, and the association has since lobbied members of the New York Congressional delegation on the issue.
