The New York State Bar Association, the Committee on Law, Youth and Citizenship along with the NY Bar Foundation are celebrating 40 years of the Mock Trial Experience in 2022.  In this educational program, high school students across New York gain first-hand knowledge of civil and criminal law and courtroom procedures. They learn life skills such as public speaking, listening and reasoning. Coaches along with attorney mentors teach students ethics, civility and professionalism as they learn more about the law and justice system.

Mock Trial in New York began on the local level in 1978 with its first statewide competition in 1982. Thousands of students making up over 400 teams participate each year. Over the next two months, watch this page on nysba.org, our facebook and Twitter sites for fun and inspiring messages from coaches and students. You’ll  find out why they love participating in Mock Trial and come back year after year.
