In one of her first public appearances since her June 1 swearing-in, New York State Bar Association President Sherry Levin Wallach testified before a working group studying the state court system’s practices following the pandemic.

The Pandemic Practices Working Group, chaired by Supreme Court Justice Craig J. Doran, is part of the larger Commission to Reimagine the Future of New York Courts. Former NYSBA President Hank Greenberg is the chair of the commission and a member of the working group. The goal of the working group is to make recommendations to the court system about what  post-pandemic practices are working and should continue and what needs to change.

Levin Wallach consulted with the leaders of the association’s sections, committees and task forces to prepare her testimony. She delivered it in person in the Court of Appeals Hall. You can read her testimony here.
