New Regulations for Renewable Energy Generation and Electric Transmission Siting

This program provides a high-level overview of the subject matter regulatory provisions for major renewable energy and major electric transmission facility siting in New York pursuant to the 2024 amendments to Public Service Law Article VIII, and new regulations at 16 NYCRR Parts 1100, 1101 and 1102, which became effective March 9, 2026. This program focuses on opportunities for municipal engagement in the Article VIII permitting process.
