Technology, the Digital Divide and Racial and Language Justice
This program will flag a number of issues that raise how technology impacts low income people of color. Should internet access be a public utility – or do we continue to perpetuate the digital divide? What good is zoom if a person has no idea how to use it? Machine Translation continues to divert us from the true mission of language justice – is there really a low stakes interaction with a low income client who speaks a non-dominant language?
