On the heels of cannabis adult-use legalization and regulation in New York, the NYSBA Ethics Committee has issued Ethics Opinion 1225, which addresses: 1) counseling clients engaged in recreational marijuana business; 2) accepting partial ownership of recreational marijuana business in lieu of fee; and 3) personal use of recreational marijuana. The speakers will examine the Opinion in detail, and discuss its practical impacts for cannabis law practitioners and for attorneys' adult use of cannabis in New York.
