The New York State Unified Court System is hosting an Introduction to Practice in New York Courts and Judicial Career Fair on Thursday, April 16, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The program, which is being held at New York City Civil Court, 111 Centre St., will offer the opportunity to learn about legal jurisdiction, case types, and court administration. Judicial internships and court attorney positions will also be discussed.

Supervising Judge L. Austin D’Souza and Supreme Court Justice Jeanine R. Johnson will discuss the roles lawyers have in the courts, including being a clerk for a judge, being a “pool” attorney in various law departments, and being a court attorney-referee. They also will discuss what the different courts do and provide insights on how the Office of Court Administration manages the statewide court system.

Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes.
