Tech Tango in ADR: Debating the Benefits and Pitfalls of Using Technology in Dispute Resolution
This panel highlights the perspectives of in-house and outside counsel, as well as practicing neutrals, in exploring the benefits and potential challenges of technology-enabled alternative dispute resolution. Presenters will first outline the types of technology used most prevalently in the ADR market, including for both virtual arbitrations and virtual mediations, and will address alternative perspectives on whether and to what extent these tools promote or frustrater resolution of disputes. The discussion will focus on "facilitative technology," which supports, rather than replaces, the resolution mechanic.
