Introduction EASL recognizes that, although our bar association is state-wide, many if not most association and section events take place either in NYC or at the NYSBA Bar Center in Albany — often to the disadvantage of those who live, study or work elsewhere. With this statewide virtual program, we hope to bring a new opportunity for personal and professional development to actual and prospective EASL members (including law students) located throughout New York — including Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse and Ithaca — and beyond. The video game industry has grown from niche to mainstream. Its total revenue now exceeds that of both the film and music industries combined. Advancing telecommunications and other technologies have helped fuel the industry at large, and led the mobile gaming segment to have a 50% share of the video game market. Opportunities and challenges abound and continually evolve for all participants in the video game industry, including in-house and outside counsel who practice in this field, as we all struggle to keep up with (if not get ahead of) the constant changes that define a shifting landscape. Our expert speakers will address those opportunities and challenges, as they provide an overview of the industry focused on intellectual property, privacy and business practices, share useful sample agreement templates, discuss hot topics, emerging trends, relevant landmark, recent and pending litigation and legislation; and, leave room for questions and answers. |
