What Lawyers Need to Know: Bridging the Legal-Engineering Divide in Construction Litigation

Construction litigation often turns on a lawyer’s ability to translate complex engineering issues into persuasive legal arguments—and an engineer’s ability to withstand the rigors of Daubert challenges and cross-examination. This 90-minute interactive seminar brings together two construction litigators and two forensic engineers to examine the development of expert reports, the effective management and use of expert witnesses, and the presentation of compelling expert testimony at hearings. The panel will address best practices for working with experts, from selection and retention through case strategy and hearing preparation, with particular focus on construction-related disputes. This program will be presented in partnership with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International at the American Arbitration Association in New York City. There will be a reception immediately following the program until 8:30 p.m.
