Corporate Counsel Section Fall Meeting: Ethics for Corporate Counsel 2022
The Corporate Counsel Section continues its series of well-received, timely programs on ethical issues facing attorneys working for corporations and other business entities. With corporate counsel facing even more legal and ethical challenges in the post-pandemic era, it is critical for attorneys serving corporate clients to be fluent in the rules applicable to the corporations and business entities. This program will assist in-house attorneys and other corporate attorneys in understanding and applying cutting-edge ethical and legal obligations.
A panel of experts with a broad range of experience and expertise will explore ethical issues of particular concern to corporate counsel including the following:
– Special challenges raised by conflict waivers requested by outside counsel
– Recent developments relating to the attorney-client privilege
– Understanding the boundaries of legitimate “threats” made against corporations by attorneys
– Post-pandemic supervision of remote attorneys in the corporate legal department
– The shifting sands of the unauthorized practice of law rule
– Developing a practical approach to outside counsel guidelines
– Understanding document preservation and spoliation issues
– Ethical issues arising relating to promotion of diversity
– Law enforcement raids and seizure of attorney files
– Dealing with disagreement among board members
Don’t miss this opportunity to get 4 ethics credits while learning about these relevant and timely issues.
