Current Controversies in Wildlife Law

This CLE will examine the pending federal proposal to rescind the “harm” description in the Endangered Species Act regulations and other actions proposed by the federal government that would diminish or eliminate longstanding wildlife protections provided under federal law. The program will then consider the ability of state wildlife agencies and laws to fill the breach in wildlife protections, focusing on New York and including the NYSDEC Endangered and Threatened Species Mitigation Bank Fund and The New Draft State Wildlife Action Plan.
