End of Life Care Continuum: Hospice, Palliative Care, and the Medical Aid in Dying Bill
Program Description: This panel program will discuss the New York State Bar Association Medical Aid in Dying Report and its implications for policy and practice in New York should the bill be enacted. The panelists will bring a public health perspective to the discussions, examining issues relevant to equitable access to care in the envisioning of a reconstituted hospice-palliative care-medical aid in dying continuum. The panel focus will also include discussion of strategies for addressing entrenched inequities and disparities across diverse populations and communities, and recommendations in the Report concerning safeguards for special populations
