Essential Planning and Protection for the Disabled Beneficiary
This program will focus on essential estate planning considerations for beneficiaries who are disabled by reason of intellectual or developmental disability. Recent data released by the Centers for Disease Control indicates that nearly 1 in 11 children are diagnosed with intellectual or developmental disability, an increase of more than 2% over the prior two years. This program will provide practical tips and best practices for estate planning attorneys who work with disabled beneficiaries. Additionally, the Surrogate’s Court is an essential partner in planning and supporting disabled beneficiaries and the intricacies in Surrogate’s Court practice must be considered by the estate planning practitioner. This program will provide practical, behind the scenes insight from active jurists.
