This virtual CLE examines how plaintiffs’ lawyers and advocates can effectively litigate and advise LGBTQ+ workers using New York City and State Human Rights Laws alongside — and sometimes instead of — federal Title VII claims. The program will highlight two recent developments that shape litigation strategy for LGBTQ+ workplace claims: New York’s statutory clarification that disparate-impact liability is actionable under the New York State Human Rights Law (A8699A / S8338), and the EEOC’s January 2026 rescission of its 2024 harassment guidance — changes that make state law essential for protecting LGBTQ+ workers.
