Stress, Physiology, and Professional Judgment: How Chronic Stress and Physical Depletion Impair Legal Decision-Making
This program focuses on how stress and burnout impact an attorney’s cognitive performance, decision-making, and professional judgment in real-world legal settings. It is designed specifically for practicing attorneys and examines how chronic stress and physical depletion can affect risk assessment, client communication, and overall professional effectiveness.
By way of background, both Chris and I bring a combined 25+ years each of legal experience. Chris has been practicing law for over two decades and has firsthand insight into the pressures attorneys face daily, including how sustained stress impacts both cognitive function and physical well-being. I also practiced law in Florida for 28 years and built and operated multiple law firms, where I saw consistently how stress and burnout influenced decision-making, performance, and long-term sustainability in the profession.
Our goal with this program is to provide a practical, law-focused perspective on these issues: grounded in real experience, while offering attorneys a clearer understanding of how stress affects their professional judgment and how to maintain high-level performance under pressure.
