Utilities Role In Combating And Responding To Climate Change

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time and one that must be addressed quickly. This CLE program will provide an overview of the programs the Public Service Commission is undertaking to mitigate the impacts of our changing climate, which include decarbonizing electric generation, electrifying the transportation sector, and reprioritizing alternatives to new distribution gas lines. And you’ll hear from a utility company on what efforts they’ve taken to understand future climate impacts and how that gets integrated into planning, operations, and governance processes. Other key stakeholders, including a panelist from the state regulator and a private practitioner in this arena, will discuss the progress made thus far, and what else should be done to stave off the worst impacts of this crisis.
