New Antitrust Law Section Chair Wants To Provide Opportunities for New Members
3.31.2026

Will Reiss, the new chair of the Antitrust Law Section, said in a recent interview that diversifying the section and increasing membership go hand in hand.
“We really want to encourage our younger members to take advantage of the opportunities we are offering by having them take the initiative on developing and becoming involved with our programming,” he said. “There are ways that we can improve on this, but we have several committees such as our class action, cartel and criminal practice committees that provide a gateway for younger attorneys to get involved.”
To help that come to fruition, Reiss said that he intends to form a Committee on Junior Members that will focus on leadership initiatives for younger lawyers. He added that the section also requires each of its four committees to produce two CLE programs annually.
“The idea is to provide leadership opportunities for our more junior members. We already have a young lawyer representative and he and I are intent on launching this committee to get more new members involved,” Reiss said.
Looking ahead, the section is gearing up for its annual Spring Fling cocktail reception on May 19 in New York City, while the annual Steve Houck Antitrust Deposition Advocacy Skills Program is scheduled for May 18 and 19.
There are also two CLE programs in mid-April including a Day in the Life of an Antitrust Lawyer series that will feature practicing attorneys discussing their work routines, career paths, and the types of cases they work on. The other is a panel discussion, set for April 15, that will explore the Department of Justice’s new whistleblower program.
Reiss added that he is confident the section will have a productive year.
“I’m obviously new to the chair role, but we have a good succession system in place, and I have several years of leadership experience in the section through my prior roles as vice chair, secretary and committee chair. I also have the benefit of following in the footsteps of a number of wonderful chairs who continue to be engaged in the section and always make themselves available to answer questions and provide guidance. The section is in a good position now,” he said.
And it is. The section grew, thanks at least in part due to the new membership model, 33.1% throughout a 12-month period beginning Dec. 31, 2024.
A partner at Crowell and Moring’s New York office, Reiss has been practicing antitrust law for nearly 25 years. In his current role, Reiss is leveraging his extensive class action experience to assist corporate clients in antitrust recovery actions.
