Respect and Civility in the Workplace
In this CLE program, Ms. English will focus on the prevention of harassment and discrimination in the workplace, as well as providing guidance on being an “upstander,” to aid colleagues who may be in awkward or offensive situations:
- The anti-harassment segment will provide basic awareness, knowledge and skill aspects associated with preventing harassment/discrimination in the workplace. This highly interactive, fast-paced program uses realistic simulations, case scenarios and exercises to develop a personal commitment to the practice of inclusive leadership. Participants explore the business, moral, and legal implications of a diverse workforce and marketplace. Treated within this segment will be the impact of abusive or bullying conduct, which – while not strictly speaking illegal – can raise legal risks nonetheless due to its negative impact on employees.
- The CLE will also focus on providing the strategies necessary to become "Upstanders" by taking an active role in interrupting bias and stereotyping. Participants will leave the program with broad ranging strategies to speak up when they witness a colleague being disrespected, stereotyped or excluded
