WHO WE ARE

The General Practice Section’s primary goal is to enhance the competence and skills of lawyers engaged in the general practice of law, to improve their ability to deliver the most efficient and highest quality legal services to their clients, and to provide a forum through which general practitioners may cooperate and assist each other in the resolution of the daily issues of practicing law.

Sarah GoldSarah Gold, Esq.

Sarah Gold is a lifelong member of New York’s Capital District. Raised in Guilderland, she earned her education at Schenectady County Community College, the University at Albany, and Albany Law School, and was admitted to the New York Bar in 2007.

After beginning her legal career working with the hedge fund industry, Sarah founded Gold Law Firm in 2011 to support small for‑profit and nonprofit businesses with formation, employment matters, contracts, and legal advocacy. She also currently serves as a Senior Attorney with the New York State Department of Health.

Sarah is deeply involved in the New York State Bar Association, where she has served as Past Chair of the Business Law Section, General Practice Section, and Young Lawyers Section, along with numerous committees and task forces. She sits on the Boards of Directors of the Albany County Bar Association, the Schenectady County Bar Association, and the Albany Law School Alumni Association, and has taught Business Law and Ethics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The General Practice Section Publication (One on One) features peer-written substantive articles about current issues facing the general practitioner, and provides updates on Section activities and ethics opinions. Edited by Martin Minkowitz and Randall Tesser, One on One is published by the General Practice Section and distributed to Section Members free of charge.

One on One is published as a benefit for members of the General Practice Section and is copyrighted by the New York State Bar Association.
