Assistant Director of Marketing
Starting salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per-year
The New York State Bar Association, a non-profit professional organization based in Albany, NY, is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing. The Assistant Director of Marketing oversees the Association’s marketing functions and is responsible for directing the planning and implementation of the Association’s marketing communications initiatives and providing a long-term strategy for the Association’s marketing efforts. The Assistant Director works with the Senior Director of Membership Development, department heads, and members of the Association.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, or advertising is required. A master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in marketing, communications or advertising management, including supervisory experience, for major service organizations is required. Extensive experience in creative development, including copy writing, launch marketing, and related production; thorough knowledge of, and experience with, survey planning, implementation, and analysis; demonstrated experience managing SEM, SEO, and social marketing campaigns as well as strategic planning for all digital channels are required. Well-developed team building and personal communication skills are also required. Experience with volunteer member-based, non-profit organizations is preferred. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of Office applications, Basecamp, and Hubspot, and certification in Google AdWords are required. Experience marketing on-site as well as virtual marketing events is required. Excellent writing, verbal and presentation communication skills, and the ability to travel are required.

Law Firm and Large Group Sales Manager
Starting salary: $45,000 – $60,000 +bonuses per-year
The New York State Bar Association, a nonprofit professional association based in Albany, is currently seeking a full-time Law Firm and Large Group Sales Manager. The position is responsible for driving new membership sales using effective selling concepts, methods and techniques to show the value of NYSBA’s products, services and solutions. The Law Firm and Large Group Sales Manager will establish new member relationships and maintain existing relationships with law firms and large groups.
A minimum of 2 to 3 years of demonstrated successful sales experience, preferably in membership or legal sales, with a proven knowledge of selling concepts, methods and techniques is required. Experience with Fonteva/Salesforce or similar records management software is a plus. The candidate must be an ambitious self-starter with high energy and motivation and have exceptional organizational and interpersonal communication skills on the phone and in person. Travel is required.

Liaison and Program Manager
Starting salary: $50,000 – $60,000 per-year
The New York State Bar Association, a non-profit professional association, is seeking a Liaison and Program Manager to assist in the administration of continuing legal education programs for attorneys. The Association’s Sections are self-sustaining, smaller chapters of the Association which develop initiatives to support members in various legal practice areas. Duties include assisting Sections in achieving their goals and objectives, serving as a communications liaison, coordinating meeting arrangements for major, multi-day conferences, administering live Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs, webinars, video conferences, webcasts and video replays, and providing general support.
A bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience is required. Three to five years of event and meeting planning, project management, or related experience is also required. Experience working with executive boards of associations or non-profit organizations is a plus. Excellent organizational, computer, and written and oral communication skills are required.

Section Publications Coordinator
Starting salary: $23.00 – $27.50 per-hour
The New York State Bar Association, a non-profit, professional organization in Albany, NY, is seeking a Section Publications Coordinator to assist in the production of Association Section newsletters and journals. Responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of section publications production from scheduling with editor to sending to the printer, including layout and minor copy editing.
An Associate’s degree in graphics, publishing, or related field, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in graphics, publishing or related field are required. Layout experience, basic copyediting skills, proficiency in InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Microsoft office applications are also required. Strong project management, communications skills, the ability to multi-task and attention to detail are key. Knowledge of Photoshop, editing in AP style and digital publishing a plus.

Director of Development (The New York Bar Foundation)
Starting salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per-year
The New York Bar Foundation (TNYBF), a philanthropic organization recognizing the importance of the law to ensure access to justice for everyone, providing grants to facilitate financial support for life-changing programs, and encouraging professionals to improve access to justice and advance the rule of law; is currently seeking a full time Director of Development.
The Director of Development is responsible for planning and implementing a $4M comprehensive fundraising campaign that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and planned gifts to secure a sustained increase in revenue. The Director will work collaboratively with the TNYBF Board of Directors to establish yearly fundraising goals; serve as a major gift officer with a portfolio of the Foundation’s top 50-70 donors; oversee the growth of the Fellows program; manage the TNYBF and The New York State Bar Association’s member-wide appeals and stewardship to maintain engagement with non-donor and lapsed donor members; and, track and evaluate key fundraising metrics to develop data-driven strategies. In addition, the Director works in close partnership with the Foundation Executive to establish fundraising objectives.
A bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing, or related field; or equivalent experience is required. Eight (8) or more years of successful experience with demonstrated competence in annual giving, major gifts, corporate/foundation relations, and gift planning are required. Proficiency in social media platforms, Zoom, WordPress, and other NYSBA software such as Fonteva/Salesforce and Clear Access is preferred. Ability to travel is required. CFRE is preferred.
