The 2021 Music Business Law Conference will be taking place virtually on four consecutive Fridays in the Fall: October 29, November 5, November 12, and November 19. Programs will take place during lunchtime from 12 – 2 p.m.

Session 1: Basics and Production Deals

October 29, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
This two-hour panel will cover a basic review of management, publishing and recording agreements, followed by a deep dive into production deals.

Session 2: NFTs – Tax Aspects and Securities Issues; Impact of Technology on Music Industry

November 5, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
The first hour of this two-part session will focus specifically on tax aspects and securities issues of NFTs. The second half of this session will discuss how technology has impacted and evolved the music industry.

Session 3: Anatomy of a Stage Musical; Diversity and the Music Business

November 12, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
This two-part session will focus first on the intricacies of a stage musical, focusing on music rights. The second hour of this session offers an assessment of diversity in the Music Industry.

Session 4: Annual Music Litigation Review; Music Industry Damage Calculations

November 19, 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Always a favorite, the final session of the 2021 MBLC series offers the annual Music Litigation Review of the past year. Following this 2-hour panel is a bonus program from 2 – 3 p.m. discussing damage calculations in the music industry.
