Elder and Disability Community Based Services: Current and Future

This program will address the segmentation and symmetries in the disparate programs with similar goals and how community-based programs are utilized currently for individuals with Developmental Disabilities through OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities), Mental Health issues through OMH (Office of Mental Health), and Older Adults, including through Medicaid and MLTC (Managed Long-Term Care).

In reviewing these trinary nearly parallel systems, we will see the symmetries, differences, and disparities in policy and service delivery.

What Community Based Programs Exist?

Each Presenter will describe the existing legal landscape, eligibility, benefits, program overlaps and conflicts in the respective categories of those individuals with Developmental Disabilities (DD), Mental Health issues (MH), and older adults both at home and in congregate care.
