This past Monday, the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Women in Law Section held a virtual panel titled, The Unusual Firing of US Attorney Geoffrey Berman: The Process and is Justice at State, where two former federal prosecutors, Paul Butler and Jessica A. Roth, discussed the firing of Berman, the legal basis for firing a US Attorney and what impact his departure could have on the independence of the SDNY prosecutors to make prosecutorial decisions independent of politics.

Past President Henry G. Miller Remembered

Known as one of New York’s most distinguished trial attorneys and gifted orators, Miller handled all types of cases throughout his five-decade career, including personal injury, commercial and mass tort cases.

At NYSBA’s June 13 virtual House of Delegates meeting, Miller was remembered by friend and colleague, retired Court of Appeals Judge Albert M. Rosenblatt.

New York State Bar Association Remembers Lawyers Lost To COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has killed over 112,000 Americans to-date. First responders, health care professionals, stay-at-home parents and members of the legal community. The New York State Bar Association would like to honor those members of the legal profession who lost their lives due to COVID-19 and left an indelible impact on their colleagues and the profession.
