The Copyright and Trademark Committee aims to enlighten its members and program attendees on copyright and trademark issues both specific to particular entertainment, arts and sports industries as well as well those that apply across multiple industries. Examples of topics that we have explored at meetings include: the use of real products, trademarks, places, people, and cultural icons in works of entertainment; copyright issues in creating mobile apps; the copyrightability of golf courses; the copyrightability of jokes; the Google Print Library Project; the use of stats and other materials in fantasy sports leagues; copyright terms and termination; and the use of trademarks and copyrighted works in political ads and parodies. In all of our programs, the Committee seeks to explore issues from various perspectives and provide attendees with actual practical information.
