A Conversation On The Color Of Law

A Conversation on The Color of Law_675

Join us for a conversation on the topics raised in Richard Rothstein's book, The Color of Law, including an examination of the policies and practices of governmental and financial institutions that led to segregation in housing across the country. The discussion, followed by a guided conversation, will provide a synopsis of Professor Rothstein's analysis and how it relates to the housing and educational segregation on Long Island. Our guest speaker, Oscar Michelen, Esq., will also discuss steps and measures being taken on Long Island by lawyers to try and reverse the effects of those policies and practices. It is not a prerequisite to read the book to attend the discussion. Mr. Michelen is a Board Member of the Nassau County Bar Association and the President-Elect of the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association.
