In September 2021, the Central Bank of Brazil published a rule applicable to all financial institutions in Brazil setting forth the new Policy of Social, Environmental and Climate Responsibility and the actions towards its effectivity. The Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission’s regulation also requires certain social and environmental information to be reported by Brazilian listed companies, which includes the process of nominating officers and managerial positions with the view towards diversity, including gender. This panel will discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion in banks and companies in Brazil and the opportunities in such actions.
